Cracker Smackers… Who Needs Crackers?

cracker_alternative_trioThe holidays are upon us!  In our household that means more entertaining, not so much the sit down dinner kind but the mingle and snack kind.  It’s the kind of entertaining that years back would have meant stocking up on crackers: crackers for dip, crackers for cheese, crackers for cheesy dips!   When we started our journey into the gluten free world, there really wasn’t any gluten free crackers to rave about.  So instead of wasting money on expensive “edible Styrofoam”, we started looking for cracker alternatives.  Now days these are our “go-to crackers”:

  • Thick sliced cucumbers
  • Freshly baked potato slices
  • Fried polenta rounds
  • Bell pepper squares
  • Potato nests
