Our Favorite Baking Tip EVER!

If you are like us, you LOVE to make and decorate cookies with the kiddos during the holidays.  Heck, any day! But IF you are like us, you and your kiddos may not love the icky over-sugared feeling you may have after a number of “accidental” licks and taste tests.  If this is a problem in your household, read on!  We have an easy solution!

Right before you start baking or frosting anything that you or your kiddos might be tempted to “test”, have everyone involved pop in a piece of chewing gum.  Voila!  Instantly the habit of accidental tasting is nipped in the bud!  So simple.  So easy.  We don’t chew gum too much, so the kids are usually so excited to have the gum they don’t realize they are missing out on the licks!

If its candy you are looking to make, try out our super simple to make Gluten Free Cracker Candy or our gluten free dairy free Peanut Butter Fudge.  Don’t forget the gum!!

By the way, this is a great trick to stop any “mom snacking”.  You know that mindless, not-even-knowing-you-are-doing-it snacking that happens while you make the kids breakfast or lunch.  A little nibble here, a few crackers there…  I am sure during the toddler years I ate more of the “snacks” than they did!  This trick saved me with my third!!

Happy Gluten Free Baking!
